Choose A Killer DJ

Picking the right DJ for your crowd is one of the best decisions you can make. If keeping the dance floor packed all night long is important to you, avoid hiring just any DJ or making an iPod playlist. Work with something who knows their craft. Picking an expert DJ means they will know how to set the mood and keep the energy up so that people stay on the dance floor and out of their seats. Expert DJs can read the mood and the crowd and know all the tricks to get your guest moving without being too obnoxious.

Our favorite Wilmington Wedding DJs’ are Active DJ, Atlantic Premier Entertainment, and Acclaim DJ. Our favorite Luxury Wedding DJs are Level Up Entertainment, Jo Bunn with Bunn DJ Company, and Split Second Sound.

Add Fun Elements

Bringing out fun elements such as uplighting, dance lighting, light-up cowboy hats, LED sticks, light-up glasses, etc. can set the mood of the dance floor. This can be a fun addition, adding that PARTY FACTOR guests will be talking about for a long time! Make sure to utilize your dance floor and make it the room’s focal point, not tucked into a corner. By highlighting it, you’re saying to your guests that dancing will be a big part of the evening.

GET ON THE DANCE FLOOR BABY!

The primary rule is that the newlyweds must continue dancing. If the crowd sees the newlyweds and members of the wedding party having a good time out on the dance floor, then the guests will want to join in also. This is a great way to get the whole dance floor moving! Another way to keep your guest grooving is to use your special dances, such as the first dance, father/daughter dance, and mother/son dance, as a tool to pack the dance floor. You can do this by extending an invitation to the entire party to join you on the dance floor at the song’s midpoint.

If having your guests join you for a night of dancing is important to you and your fiancé, make sure the music and dancing are given top importance by planning early. Don’t forget to meet with your entertainment at least one month before your event to review your song selections and timing!
