We wanted to take a trip around the world with Madison and Evan — from Wilmington direct to being tucked away in a Santorini coastal garden with their family and friends. We’re lucky to live in a place with beautiful views and venues that can be transformed to fit a specific vision.

Madison and Evan loved the classic coastal look, but wanted to do more than the traditional blue beach wedding. We chose to incorporate neutrals and subtle green accents to appear more “coastal” than “beach” and also coordinate with the ceremony location in Airlie Gardens. We wanted to do more high impact pieces at the ceremony to set the scene for the day and then let the pier and ocean views be the focal point for reception. We continued the coastal vibe with the rattan accents for the chandeliers throughout the space and then had a statement piece over the dance floor. 

Madison and Evan also wanted to make sure that they didn’t sacrifice intimacy for good party vibes. It was important to them to have an inviting space to enter after their ceremony and to capitalize on the beauty of the area in both Airlie Gardens and Wrightsville Beach. In order to keep the balance, we created a space reminiscent of a Santorini beach club, with lounges, soft draping throughout the pier, and cocktail style seating around the dance floor. This ensured that as the night went on, the energy and focus would be on the dance floor.

Madison and Evan were able to dance the night away while still allowing special moments with each of their guests — all while overlooking crystal blue water.
